South Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP)

Note: This is NOT an NRA Course. The permit to teach this course is granted by South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED).

 

Molon Labe Training is approved by South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) to teach this course.

 

Why Our Course?

 

Our course is designed to help those new to pistol shooting to become comfortable with gun safety and basic gun handling. You will leave with more confidence and a solid understanding of the basics and a direction to continue practicing and training. Some courses assume a higher level of experience and can leave a beginner confused. However, if you do already have some experience and a a solid background, advanced topics can be added as time permits.

 

We encourage you to sign up your friends, loved ones, and family members so that they may have exposure to the material as well.

 

SC CWP Course Description:

 

The SC Concealed Weapon Permit (CWP) Course is designed to provide you with a basic understanding of pistol safety and general concealed carry concerns as well as a basic understanding of applicable South Carolina laws relating to concealed carry.

 

Students must achieve a passing score on a two-part standardized test issued by SLED and based upon class content (70% required score for each test part). Students must also pass a live fire qualification as per SLED requirements. Upon successful completion of this course and fulfilment of all other applicable SLED requirements, the student may apply for a South Carolina Concealed Weapon Permit. Course time is approximately 8 hours (note: time depends upon number of students and proficiency). Additional details concerning the South Carolina CWP program are available on the SLED website.

 

During the day, we will fingerprint you and complete the application for you to submit to SLED to apply for your South Carolina Concealed Weapon Permit upon completion of all requirements.

 

Note: The completion of this course does not guarantee that SLED will issue a permit to the student. 

 

Course Topics:

 

Section 1: Firearms and the Law. Avoiding Confrontation.

Section 2: Pistol Knowledge and Safe Gun Handling and Storage.

Section 3: Ammunition Knowledge, Fundamentals of Pistol Shooting, and Pistol Maintenance.

Section 4: Shooting Positions, Range Safety, and Fundamentals Reinforcement.

Section 5: Live Fire Exercises.
